INSIGHT:

The magazine presents diverse perspectives of a young generation of South African creatives in the fields of photography, illustration, art, and design. Each showcased work receives a unique layout that aligns with the story being told and the photographic genre, strongly connected to the content’s demands. It is divided into four volumes to allow for an immersive exploration of each narrative and to provide a platform for every artist.
Each page, both text and image, can be used as posters.

INSIGHT:

Using three ideas from Michael Rock, which relate to the topic of font and design.
The three ideas were divided into three sections and the quotations were highlighted using different font and style. Likewise german and englisch are woven into each other but separated by paragraph formats. At the end of these ideas, inserts of typographic rules are created. These rules should also be taken into account in the layout itself.

INSIGHT:

This publication offers a reinterpretation of the "Tatort" crime series by rearranging and restructuring its script. Details and themes are extracted, reshuffled, and creatively presented in a new format. The project aims not only to reorganize the familiar narrative but also to create a platform for discussion and interpretation. It invites viewers to explore familiar elements from fresh perspectives, uncovering previously unnoticed details. The accompanying image series, created independently from the show, serves as a visual complement to enhance and support the storytelling.

The dynamic energy of Zurich's Kreis 5 becomes the foundation for a series of pictograms. These symbols, intricately arranged and repeated, form a pattern that flows seamlessly across the surface. The interplay of connection and repetition speaks to the essence of the district, transforming the symbols into a wearable narrative.

INSIGHT:

BEBEK is a serif display font inspired by patterns of mosaic tiles. The design reflects the structured elegance of mosaics, with each serif adding a sense of form and detail that evokes the craftsmanship and geometry of a serif font.

INSIGHT:

The design navigates the viewer through the folding of a paper boat. The process is integrated into a specially designed grid system, with the triangular shapes reminiscent of sailboats. Information about the event is seamlessly incorporated into the instructions for folding the boat, blending both form and function. The layout emphasizes the connection between sailing and design, using the act of folding as both a visual metaphor and a practical guide.

INSIGHT:

The infographic illustrates the distance a thumb travels while mindlessly scrolling through content, comparing the years 2012 and 2022 across different age groups in switzerland. The analysis quantifies these distances and presents them in a table alongside relatable comparisons, ranging from swimming pool lengths to flight paths. The visual representation aims to highlight the growing impact of content consumption over time, offering a stark contrast between past and present digital habits while making the data tangible through everyday physical distances.
